Phase mapping computed via star-of-slots algorithm (exact integer sectors). Three-phase sinusoidal wye drive: each coil carries its phase current times its winding direction, so winding factor and torque ripple emerge from the slot/pole choice. Excitation is fixed at 1 A peak per coil, so the torque chart is absolute: more slots produce proportionally more torque, and balanced pairings run flat at slots × kw (kw= 0.866–0.951, shown as the pu readout); degenerate pairings pulse through zero. Force model uses the Lorentz principle (F = N·I·L·B·sin θ) against the two magnets flanking each coil. Black arrows show net tangential force on each stator tooth. Magenta/cyan decompose tangential and radial components. Yellow arrows show Newton's 3rd law reaction on rotor magnets.
